Sagara is a military man in Japan. He was granted permission to create the Special Dragon Unit. It is a unit that was created as a means of combating the dragons that were thought to be nothing but horrible monsters set out to murder humans. Sagara also witnessed the death of one of his teammates during a battle with a dragon that had no choice but to defend itself. Due to that he has a deep hatred for all dragons and could not change his ways until the demons descended and started destroying mankind. After seeing the remains of many of his dead comrades he changed his thinking and started fighting against the demons. He gained a sense of justice and was able to remedy his ways somewhat when he protected Riko and Carmines route to the Demon King so that they could take flight and finish the fight.
