He is the son of a protective father, Takatsukasa Chisato, and a friend and classmate to Sakaki Shunsuke.

Riju is a happy, cheerful young boy who loves his father and his lover Nijou Kakeru. He is happy and glad for his father to be in a relationship with Shunsuke. He doesn't mind the two at all, he even said he'd wish for the them to get married so the three of them could be like a real family.
