Anne Barberin is the foster mother of Remy, who calls her "Mother Barberin." Her true daughter is Nana. Anne's husband, Jerome, found Remy abandoned as a baby on a street corner in Paris during a cold winter. When Jerome brought Baby Remy to Chavanon Village, Anne, who was very depressed at that time because of loosing a baby to an illness, was suddenly filled with joy in her heart. Mother Barberin raised Remy with great love and care. She treated Remy like her true daughter.
