Hilda is the sole survivor of an unknown holocaust that wiped out her village, and everyone she knew, and had been wandering alone up until she meets Horus who offers to take her back to his village with him.

Hilda is a very tortured character. She exhibits suicidal tendencies, survivor's guilt, and is hateful, lonely, and depressed. She plays songs on her harp and sings, but her lyrics are terrifying, and speak of sadness and loss. She repeatedly refuses the villager's kindness, who could not possibly understand the depth of her suffering, despite her intense desire to be loved and to belong.
