Haruta is the commander of the 12th division of the Whitebeard Pirates. His name was revealed in a SBS of Volume 58.

Haruta is a male pirate wearing a 16th century style outfit. His shirt sleeves are tight on the biceps and billowing on the forearms, giving the impression that he has disproportionately large forearms, similar to Franky. However, the sleeves are seen in several positions indicating that its loose fabric and not 'Popeye arms'.

He carries a sabre, whose handguard resembles the shoulder straps of his outfit.
