Tristan is the son of Meliodas and Elizabeth Liones, and currently the prince of the Kingdom of Liones. As a half-Demon, half-Goddess, he can awaken power from both sides of his lineage. He has heterochromia, taking his green eye from his father and his blue from his mother.

At 10 years old, on his birthday, he met Lancelot, Ban and Elaine's son, they fought and the Lancelot's scar on the forehead was caused by Tristan himself.

In Mokushiroku No Yonkishi (Four Knights of the Apocalypse), he's one of the Knights of Apocalypse, representing Pestilence. He is still getting used to being a representative of Liones, and as such he has to alter his speech to be a bit more formal. Tristan dual-wields shortswords named Mael and Estarossa, paying homage to his uncle. He can grow wings thanks to his Goddess blood, and is learning how to use his father's trademark Full Counter ability.

Tristan commands a platoon of Holy Knights dedicated solely to protecting him, made up of Chion, Isolde and Jade.
