Tao Sagara is one of Daigo's friends and teammates in his junior high baseball club who plays as shortstop.

Tao can be described as a tomboy who is kind and social with her friends, especially her best friend Yayoi Sawa, but tough out on the field. She also has a bit of a teasing, exited, and moody side as shown when she teased Sakura Mutsuko about not giving up any runs in the first Chapter of the Middle School Arc, jumped with joy when Daigo was able to stop a runner from scoring more points after Hiromu Tanba missed catching the ball in their first game, and when she complained how Daigo’s “can do attitude” was exhausting sometimes or when Anita Kabashima accused her and Yayoi of not trying their best in their third game. Tao also has some romantic interest, when she told Yayoi that she couldn’t go to high school without admitting to people she didn’t have a boyfriend, although she is quite dense in noticing other people’s feelings sometimes, as shown how surprised she was when Yayoi revealed Sakura’s crush on Daigo.
